Job Description: We are looking for an Engineering Designer interested in entering the field of Automotive Design, who will be responsible for developing math and design solutions to meet subsystem and component requirements. This activity requires creativity, initiative and independent problem solving skills while leading cross functional teams for issue resolution.
This role requires an individual with drive and passion to embrace technology while becoming an expert in Automotive Design, Engineering Best Practices, Manufacturing
Responsibilities:
• Support component and subsystem requirements Develop, refine, and finalize Criteria and Typical Sections Develop Standard Modeling Methods and Processes
• Proficient in Design Standards and Best Practices Demonstrated application of design operations and processes (Standard modeling, Clearance Analysis, etc.)
• Applies manufacturability, Design for Assembly, and integration knowledge to parts and subsystem designs Facilitates and participates in Design Reviews, both scheduled and informal workstation reviews, as required Documents and maintains material, mass, and other part specifications within the NX file
• Supports CAE with studies to improve designs
• Completes, analyzes and applies NX Analysis results for solutions of their subsystem / components
• Supports the Global Vehicle Development Process and the math fidelity for each cycle Independently integrates component subsystem design into systems
• Performs appropriate studies/alternatives and participates in recommendations for program direction
• Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in area of responsibility Supports lessons learned, updating best practices and learning sessions with program teams
• Creates math data models of advanced, complex components, systems and subsystems Proactively communicates effectively with all stakeholders
• Releases system/subsystem parts to meet timing requirements with quality
• Actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities
• Supports current product change management processes
Required:
* Technical Design/Engineering Program OR 3+ years of design/engineering experience
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Preferred
Open to Candidates with various levels of experience (thus the wide compensation range), but all candidates must have either a 4yr Technical Degree (BSME Preferred) OR at least 3 years of experience.
