Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team as a Patient Care Coordinator. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing patient intake, ensuring the accuracy of referral information, and facilitating effective communication with healthcare providers. This position is initially offered on a contract basis for 6-9 months, with the potential for permanent hire based on performance.



Responsibilities
  • Review the contents of referrals to ensure all information is complete and accurate.
  • Create patient profiles from scan or fax images by accurately entering patient and provider information.
  • Conduct initial checks of prescriptions to ensure clinical accuracy for processing.
  • Communicate with providers regarding referral status, prescription clarification, missing information, or patient concerns.
  • Update concise progress notes to ensure other team members can quickly assess the status of referrals.
  • Enter new provider information accurately into the system.

Essential Skills
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, not including time as a trainee.
  • Must possess a valid Pharmacy Technician License for Texas.
  • Active PTCB certification is required.
  • Proficient computer skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in retail or specialty pharmacy is advantageous.
  • Quick typing skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and embrace challenges.

Work Environment

This is an onsite role located in Fort Worth, TX, with no hybrid or remote options available. The schedule is Monday to Friday from 10am to 7pm CST. Training will be conducted over three weeks from 9am to 6pm CST, and flexibility for this schedule is required. Employees will work in an office setting with individual cubicles that offer both sitting and standing options. Personalization of workspace is encouraged.
