Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to work on wall power products. The role involves creating and improving simple touch screens for internet and stream services, managing outsourced software development and circuit boards, and working with vendors to enhance product features.
Responsibilities
- Manage the design, development, and testing of analog, digital, and embedded control systems for new products.
- Collaborate with outsourced designers and vendors.
- Test Windows/Linux/Android-based software applications for product integration.
- Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, and CE standards for products.
- Collaborate with vendors to source and validate new components.
- Support the sales department with feedback on product upgrades and options.
- Build test fixtures and interface them with external hardware or PCs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production and field service issues.
- Work with transformers, 5v/12v/24v power supplies, fusing, and EMC filters.
- Design and source wiring, connectors, and schematics for power and signal cables.
- Test Bluetooth, CAN bus, Wi-Fi communications.
- Test servo motor/encoder systems and collaborate with vendors for improvements.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in electronic/electrical design.
- Experience with microcontrollers and embedded firmware.
- Familiarity with data bus architectures such as I2C, SPI, USB, CAN.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for electronic circuits and PCBs.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently with minimal supervision.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in PCB design, electronic design, and embedded firmware.
- Knowledge of UL, electronics, and EMC standards.
Work Environment
This is a fully onsite position with a 1st shift schedule, open from 6 AM to 5 PM, with flexible start times at 6, 7, or 8 AM. The work week is 40 hours, and the environment is a new, clean manufacturing facility. The role involves being part of a team of 10 engineers. Minimal travel is required, about 5%, for trade shows or EMS lab tests. The company is composed of approximately 100 employees, fostering a collaborative and long-tenured working environment.
