Job Description
As a Launch Engineer, you will manage business relationships with the corporate support team and customers, ensuring the success of new program launches. You will interface with both internal and external team members, develop new business opportunities, and expand the product line through business case reviews. Your role will include financial assessments of programs, managing program spending, and developing cross-functional teams and communication plans. You will hold weekly program team reviews, develop action plans, and report to the Program Management Gateway Reviews (MGR). Additionally, you will create program timing plans, manage ideas within the OI Roadmap, and review ECN/RFQs to ensure timing and cost objectives are met.
Responsibilities
- Manage business relationships with corporate support teams and customers.
- Ensure the overall success of new program launches.
- Interface with internal and external team members.
- Develop new business and expand product lines through business case reviews.
- Complete financial assessments of programs, identifying anticipated costs and revenues early.
- Manage program spending effectively.
- Develop cross-functional teams and a comprehensive communication plan.
- Conduct weekly program team reviews to address open issues and timing.
- Develop and implement action plans for program improvements.
- Document Lessons Learned and Best Practices with a cross-functional team.
- Report to the Program Management Gateway Reviews (MGR).
- Create program timing plans for the launch of programs.
- Manage ideas and timing within the OI Roadmap.
- Review and manage ECN/RFQs to meet timing and cost objectives.
- Lead program teams using the company's Global Development and Launch System software.
- Advise program teams on projects, tasks, and operations.
- Facilitate customer interaction and control with the plant.
- Ensure all program timing targets are achieved, including run@rates, PPAP, DOE’s, and 1st shot trials.
- Develop a comprehensive project plan, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Define project goals, scope, and roles to ensure clarity and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience with product launch, project management, and quality engineering.
- Proficiency in process engineering and working within the automotive industry.
- Familiarity with PPAP and injection molding processes.
- Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience is required.
- Experience in an injection molding facility is preferred.
- Ability to multi-task and possess good personal skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, and spreadsheet packages.
- Experience with General Motors, Daimler, Nissan, or Honda is preferred.
- Hands-on experience coordinating launch activities with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
The position is within a Tier 1 supplier environment. The role involves working with diverse teams and utilizing advanced software and equipment to manage and launch new programs efficiently.

This is a Permanent position based out of Anniston, AL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
