Job Title: Continuous Improvement EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Continuous Improvement Engineer to lead and facilitate cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing efficiency, quality, and safety in manufacturing processes. This role involves utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and industrial engineering methodologies to drive improvements and optimize resource utilization.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and industrial engineering methodologies.
  • Analyze current manufacturing processes, identify bottlenecks, and recommend solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and capacity planning to optimize resource utilization.
  • Develop and implement standard work, visual management, and error-proofing solutions.
  • Train and coach teams on best practices for process improvement and problem-solving.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, scrap, downtime, and cost savings.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations to support new product introductions and process changes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Document and share lessons learned and best practices across departments.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Experience with time studies, Kaizen, 5Y, Fishbone, and layout design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing, preferably in the powertrain or automotive sector.
  • Proficiency in value stream mapping and root cause analysis.
Work Environment

This role is primarily plant-floor-based with regular interaction with production, maintenance, and quality personnel. It offers a fast-paced, hands-on environment that requires flexibility and the ability to manage multiple priorities. The team is part of a global company committed to setting industry standards and advancing mobility through technology solutions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Athens, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/yr.

Benefits available upon on offer extended , 401K , medical and dental benefits

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Athens,AL.
