We are seeking a skilled Quality Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards through meticulous inspection and testing processes.
Responsibilities- Interpret specifications and part prints to understand dimensional, physical, functional, and visual requirements.
- Inspect products for quality issues using approved methods and procedures.
- Perform part inspection and measure dimensions of incoming, in-process, and finished workpieces to ensure conformance to print specifications using precision measuring instruments such as optical comparators, CMM, or vision machines, along with templates and fixtures.
- Conduct in-process inspections including welding, assembly, function, and laser mark inspections.
- Document and communicate testing and inspection results to ensure quality control standards are satisfied.
- Place non-conforming production on 'hold' status and complete NCR paperwork.
- Collect quality data and enter it into spreadsheets and databases.
- Verify and support dispositions of nonconforming external customer returns through an RMA procedure.
- Maintain inspection equipment and verify calibration.
- Communicate with manufacturing, engineering, and production personnel from all departments to exchange pertinent information and solve problems.
- Assist with corrective and preventative actions as required.
- Meet and maintain established efficiency and effectiveness standards for the quality function.
- Ensure proper and complete documentation of all inspection paperwork along with all data in the ERP system.
- Complete all documentation per ISO and FDA requirements.
- Proficiency in reading specifications and part prints.
- Experience with quality control and assurance.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
- Ability to inspect products for various quality issues.
- Experience with ERP systems and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Knowledge of ISO and FDA documentation requirements.
- Experience with CMM or vision machines is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with different departments.

Work EnvironmentThe role will initially involve training on the day shift for 2-3 months before transitioning to the second shift. Day shift hours are 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday, with optional Friday work. Second shift hours are 3 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., with a pay differential for working this shift. Additionally, weekend shifts are available, with day hours from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and night hours from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., both offering 40 hours of pay.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Athens, AL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
