Job Title: Fiber Make Ready Inspector

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVD Inspector to provide oversight and quality control on High Volume Deployment (HVD) projects within the power distribution sector. This role involves close coordination with Grid Investment contract crews and internal teams to ensure the successful execution of overhead distribution construction projects. The ideal individual will have a strong background in utility distribution systems, particularly within our client's network.


Responsibilities

  • Provide daily oversight and inspection of HVD project activities.
  • Monitor and report on the progress and quality of work performed by contract crews.
  • Assist in the development of work plans and schedules.
  • Support material planning and logistics to ensure the timely availability of resources.
  • Conduct quality control (QC) checks to ensure compliance with the client's standards and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field crews to resolve issues and maintain project timelines.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of field activities, inspections, and project milestones.
  • Ensure adherence to the client's work practices and construction standards.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in overhead distribution construction.
  • Proven experience in HVD project oversight and inspection.
  • Strong familiarity with the client's distribution system and associated work practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in using field reporting tools and software.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in the field.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various project sites.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience working directly with the client or its contractors.
  • Certifications in utility inspection, safety, or project management.
  • Knowledge of utility material specifications and logistics.

Work Environment

Projects will be located around the state and within the outline of the client's territory.
