Job Title: Industrial Controls Engineer
Job Description

An experienced Industrial Controls Engineer is sought to support the design, development, and integration of complex systems for a variety of customers. This role involves contributing to both rapid prototyping efforts and detailed hardware development. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary engineering team to coordinate and support all phases of control system design, development, and testing. Based at an Engineering Test Center in Hollywood, Alabama, the ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with industrial motor control and automation, specifically using Rockwell Automation PLC hardware, and a strong foundation in electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and integrate complex control systems.
  • Support rapid prototyping and detailed hardware development.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team to coordinate all phases of control system design, development, and testing.
  • Develop and commission requirements for industrial motor control and automation.
  • Test and debug PLC control systems.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency with Rockwell Automation PLC hardware and programming.
  • Experience with motor control center design, layout, integration, and testing.
  • Ability to integrate low voltage (LV) to medium voltage (MV) Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and programmable logic controllers (PLC).
  • Working knowledge of Studio 5000 and Factory Talk software.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial motor control and automation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant ABET-accredited STEM degree with 5 years of relevant experience or 20 years of experience without a degree.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to establish network communications and remote Windows workstations.
  • Knowledge of National Instruments DAQ systems.
  • Experience in developing and interpreting electrical schematics.
  • Comfortable working in a prototyping environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety codes.
  • Experience with ANSYS and thermal desktop.
Work Environment

The position is based onsite in Hollywood, with the possibility of working at HQ in Huntsville and traveling to Hollywood as needed. The engineering team operates flexibly between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, collaborating closely with technicians and machinists who typically work from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The team is deeply invested in delivering high-quality products, and there is a strong culture of knowledge transfer among team members, ranging from 3 to 35 years of experience. The environment encourages collaboration and innovation, supporting impactful projects for the US Department of Defense.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
