Join a team dedicated to manufacturing electronics for military and defense customers. As an SMT Technician, you will contribute to the production of circuit boards for critical devices such as night vision goggles used by the US Army and safety equipment for coal miners. Your soldering skills will ensure the functionality and reliability of active PC boards, ultimately supporting vital government operations.
Responsibilities- Follow the Quality Management System to ensure high standards.
- Convert CAD data into usable machine programs.
- Maintain applicable machine and product documentation.
- Ensure product quality up to and through the reflow process.
- Produce quality products in compliance with customer requirements.
- Address and fix problems, including unscheduled maintenance or repair on SMT equipment.
- Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance on SMT production equipment.
- Maintain recertification as required.
- Perform other duties as identified by Supervisor/Management.
- Electronic assembly expertise, including soldering small components and boards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
- Knowledge of IPC 610, IPC 620, and J-STD-001 standards.
- Experience in quality assurance, inspection, and testing.
- Familiarity with mechanical and troubleshooting tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in DOS and Windows-based equipment operating systems.
- Experience in SMT manufacturing equipment programming and operation.
- Ability to read and interpret customer drawings and requirements.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Certification to J-STD-001 with Space Addendum.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Trained to AS9100 program requirements.
- Experience with specific equipment is a plus.
- 3 years minimum experience with operating automated assembly equipment.

Work EnvironmentWork in a high-tech facility focusing on the production of electronic components for defense purposes. The position requires adherence to a 4/10 schedule from Monday to Thursday. The work environment is designed to support safety and efficiency, with a focus on maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The role requires the ability to lift and carry at least 35 pounds over short distances, and a commitment to safety and compliance is essential.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison, AL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
