Job Title: Maintenance TechnicianJob Description

A Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and troubleshooting of a facility's equipment, machinery, and physical structures. This role ensures operations run safely and efficiently by transitioning from reactive repairs to proactive preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections, clean and lubricate machinery, and change filters or lightbulbs to prevent equipment failure.
  • Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
  • Handle general repairs including plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall, and masonry.
  • Maintain accurate records of work orders, material consumption, and labor hours using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Adhere strictly to OSHA safety standards, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and manage hazardous waste disposal.
Essential Skills
  • A high school diploma or GED is typically required; technical certifications or an Associate's degree in Building Maintenance Technology are preferred.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools, reading blueprints, and understanding complex schematics.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in cramped or adverse weather conditions.
  • Analytical thinking to identify root causes of failures rather than just symptoms.
  • Clear communication skills for reporting issues to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Effective time management skills to prioritize urgent repairs against scheduled maintenance tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with maintenance of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Familiarity with CMMS for documentation and record-keeping.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mobile, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
