Position Summary...
The Director, Digital Strategy will lead Sam's Club's digital savings and events strategy, ensuring members experience exceptional value through engaging promotions, seamless site execution, and strong event-driven experiences. This role owns the vision and site execution of major member events-from Instant Savings Books (ISBs) and doorbusters while fostering partnerships across Marketing, Merchandising, Product, MAP, and Membership. A critical leader during peak seasons and high-pressure periods, the Director ensures flawless delivery, inspires cross-functional teams, and drives innovation in digital event strategy.

What you'll do...
  • Own Savings & Events Strategy: Lead the end-to-end strategy for all Sam's Club digital savings and event activations- including evergreen savings, ISBs, doorbusters, eCommerce-only events, and major holidays-delivering industry-leading offers and unbeatable member value.
  • Partner Across the Business: Build strong, collaborative relationships with MAP, Marketing, Merchandising, Product, and engineering teams to shape event strategy, influence execution, and integrate new features and offers across the digital ecosystem.
  • Drive Execution & Program Management: Oversee flawless execution of site events, be a subject matter expert in site operations, oversee UX layouts to journey mapping to promotional messaging, ensuring campaigns are member-first, on-brand, and operationally smooth-even during midnight shifts and holiday surges.
  • Combat Competitive Pressures: Design and launch compelling digital events (e.g., Super Savings Events) to directly compete with key retail moments, ensuring Sam's Club maintains a competitive edge.
  • Lead & Develop Teams: Manage and inspire a team of site merchandisers, event managers, and MAP-focused leaders, balancing workloads, coaching for excellence, and driving accountability for results.
  • Optimize Tools & Processes: Leverage tools like Tempo and established E2E QA processes to improve efficiency and streamline execution, ensuring visibility and alignment across the organization.

  • Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to set vision, build strategy, lend a strategic point of view to a large cross-functional organization, and lead high-performing teams in digital retail, eCommerce, or large-scale promotions.
  • Event & Promotions Expertise: Deep understanding of promotional planning, program management, industry trends, and site operations -particularly in fast-paced, competitive environments.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Experience influencing and collaborating with Marketing, Merchandising, and Product teams to deliver integrated digital experiences.
  • Digital Operational Excellence: Strong site operations skills with a track record of executing complex, time-sensitive campaigns at scale
  • Analytical & Data-Driven Mindset: Skilled at leveraging data and analytics to craft insightful perspectives, address complex business questions, and translate findings into LC-ready recaps.
  • Resilience Under Pressure: Comfort leading during peak holiday periods, late-night launches, and high-visibility events.

San Bruno, California US-08848:The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00

Bentonville, Arkansas US-09930:The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00



















Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.










Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field and 5 years' experience in public relations, communications or related field OR 7 years' experience in public relations, communications or related field.
2 years' supervisory experience.
