Job Title: Environmental Engineer/Geologist
Actalent Services is seeking a motivated Environmental Engineer or Geologist to join our team in Little Rock, Arkansas. This position plays a key role in supporting environmental operations, including the design and permitting of landfills, landfill gas collection and control systems, industrial wastewater systems, and stormwater infrastructure.
You’ll be responsible for preparing construction plans, specifications, and documentation, as well as managing permit applications for solid waste facilities and environmental control systems. The role also involves fieldwork, including sample collection and construction quality assurance, while collaborating closely with contractors and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare permit applications and regulatory submittals for solid waste and environmental control system infrastructure.
- Collect environmental samples (soil, air, surface water, groundwater) from hazardous and non-hazardous sites.
- Conduct drilling operations, including borehole logging, well installation, development, and sampling.
- Perform construction quality assurance (CQA) observations to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Review and validate technical reports, design plans, calculations, and data for quality control.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and clients, with support from project managers.
- Collaborate with technical teams to meet client objectives.
- Work with GIS and CAD teams to develop design plans, or independently use AutoCAD/ArcGIS for basic layouts.
- Prepare engineering calculations to support design documents and technical reports.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems, or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Strong technical writing skills and adaptability to field QA/QC requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with geosynthetics and soil sampling.
- Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology.
