Job Title: Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician will work within the powertrain team, focusing on achieving key results. This role requires a strong knowledge of troubleshooting preventive maintenance and electrical systems. The Technician will develop strategies to meet team and company goals, and report to various supervisors and managers throughout the production organization. A working knowledge of standard automotive OEM process equipment and related systems is essential, as well as being a proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills.
- Perform maintenance of process equipment in various shops, depending on the department.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on all types of production equipment.
- Accurately document all preventive maintenance activities performed.
- Collaborate with the maintenance planner to learn and use the CMMS system.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex problems on production equipment.
- Repair and/or replace defective parts.
- Support the installation of new equipment.
- Fabricate parts for plant and/or production equipment.
- Enforce and follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed.
- At least 2 years of work experience in a maintenance capacity on manufacturing or industrial equipment.
- At least 2 years of experience in proper troubleshooting of electrical systems.
- Ability to verbally explain the correct use of multimeter and other diagnostic tools.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- MIG, TIG, and stick welding and cutting skills are preferred but not required.
- Understanding of electrical control systems.
- Mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting abilities of robots and/or other automation equipment.
- Familiarity with shafts, motors, chains, and various conveyor-related equipment.
- Understanding of PLC logic controls such as Rockwell / Siemens.
- Understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
- Ability to operate mobile equipment including forklifts and powered industrial trucks.
- Valid US driver's license and a clean driving record.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
The work schedule is B Crew (days), Wednesday to Saturday from 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break. This role requires standing, stooping, walking, lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds, and performing similar actions throughout the workday. Employees typically work 40-48 hours a week, with a 4-day work week in a dynamic and family-oriented team environment.
