Bachelors degree in taxation, accounting, finance, or any other related field of study
5+ years of corporate tax experience with an emphasis in federal and state laws
Extensive experience with tax law research and presentation to stakeholders and higher-level management
Experience with tax filing software
Job Description
As a Tax Analyst, you will serve as an internal tax advisor, interpreting U.S. tax law, assessing business proposals, and providing strategic guidance. Your primary focus will be on research, analysis, and communication, rather than tax return preparation.
Responsibilities include:
Tax Research & Analysis
- Conduct deep research on federal, state, local, and (if applicable) international tax laws, regulations, rulings, and case law.
- Monitor legislative changes, IRS guidance, state DOR updates, and relevant court decisions; summarize implications for the business.
- Prepare technical memos, position papers, and decision-ready briefs with citations and recommended actions.
- Support tax planning, modeling, and risk assessments for business initiatives (e.g., new products, entity changes, cross-border transactions).
Presentations & Stakeholder Communication
- Develop and deliver clear, engaging presentations to Finance, Leadership, and cross-functional teams.
- Translate complex tax issues into plain language, including visuals, scenarios, and decision trees.
- Create training decks and lead lunch‑and‑learns or workshops on relevant tax topics.
Compliance & Documentation
- Assist with tax compliance by providing research-backed positions and documentation to support filings.
- Maintain a central library of research notes, citations, rulings, and internal guidance.
- Support audit defense with research, documentation, and presentation materials for external auditors and tax authorities.
Cross-Functional Support
- Partner with Accounting on tax provision questions (ASC 740), journal entries, and reconciling tax-sensitive accounts.
- Collaborate with Legal, HR, and Operations on tax implications of contracts, compensation, sales/use tax, and nexus analyses.
- Contribute to process improvements—templates, standards, and tax knowledge management.

This is a Contract position based out of Chandler, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $63.00/hr.
