Job Title: Welder Lead #AeroJobsXNRGY

Job Description

We are seeking a Welder Lead to oversee and guide a team of welders, ensuring high standards in welding processes. This role involves both leadership and hands-on welding responsibilities, focusing on MIG and TIG welding techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead a team of 4-8 welders, providing coaching and performance plans.
  • Teach and coach team members on welding processes, ensuring all welds meet high standards.
  • Perform and supervise advanced welding techniques, including multi-pass and pipe welding.
  • Design and fabricate metal parts, components, and assemblies based on blueprints and specifications.
  • Mentor and train less experienced welders to improve their skills.
  • Inspect completed welds for strength, durability, and quality, conducting tests as necessary.
  • Maintain welding equipment, ensuring it is in optimal working condition.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex welding issues, adjusting techniques and settings as needed.
  • Collaborate with leadership, engineers, and other trades to meet specifications and timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations at all times.
  • Follow lean manufacturing guidelines, providing continuous improvement suggestions for efficiency.

Essential Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in welding with extensive fabrication experience.
  • Expert knowledge of welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and specialized methods.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in leading and mentoring welding teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Recent and extensive experience with stainless steel welding.
  • Experience with aluminum and carbon steel welding.
  • Welding lead experience.

Work Environment

Work in a modern, state-of-the-art facility in Mesa, Arizona, equipped with industry 4.0 technology. The environment supports career advancement and recognizes entrepreneurial spirit. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 35 pounds, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch as required, and climb portable ladders. Use of personal protection equipment is required, and good manual dexterity is necessary for handling tools and equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.

classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
