We are seeking an experienced machine operator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will operate various advanced machines, such as press breaks, saws, drills, turret punches, lasers, and shears, following standard operating procedures. The role involves setting up, programming, and calibrating machines for production runs, as well as troubleshooting and resolving complex machine issues.
Responsibilities- Operate various machines at an advanced level according to standard operating procedures.
- Set up, program, and calibrate machines for production runs, ensuring all configurations meet product specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex machine issues, including mechanical, electrical, and software-related problems.
- Monitor the performance of machines and identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency gains.
- Perform final quality checks on parts and assemblies, ensuring they meet all standards and customer specifications.
- Train and mentor less experienced machine operators on advanced machine operation and troubleshooting techniques.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on machines, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve product designs, production workflows, and equipment performance.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, machine performance, and any corrective actions taken.
- Follow and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Follow lean manufacturing guidelines, providing continuous improvement suggestions for gained efficiency.
- High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical certification or associate degree in machine operation, engineering, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in machine operations, preferably in press breaks, turrets, lasers, and shears.
- Expertise in machine programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of machining techniques, including precision manufacturing and CNC operations.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong leadership abilities, with experience training and mentoring junior staff.
- Commitment to quality control, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with punch press, press brake, and sheet metal operations.
- Familiarity with CNC machine operations.

Work EnvironmentThis position operates on the 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, from 3pm to 1:30am, with a 10% shift differential. Training will occur on the 1st shift to ensure understanding of machines and processes. The work environment includes the use of personal protective equipment, requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination, and involves standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching as needed. Employees must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds and climb portable ladders.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesa, AZ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
