Actalent is currently seeking a qualified Project Manager for a position in the Phoenix metro. The Project Manager is primarily responsible for driving various customer-specific and internal projects to completion. This role creates value by analyzing project results and aiding in business decision-making. The Project Manager works closely with the Operations group on monthly reporting of operational and financial metrics, interfaces with customers and business personnel, and identifies and solves business issues using finance and modeling skills.
Responsibilities
- Direct project supervision and manage project workflow.
- Maintain quality control, meet project schedules, and ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Communicate project status to management and clients.
- Develop project specifications and implement practices to achieve defined objectives.
- Maintain knowledge of utility company policies to communicate effectively with professional staffs.
- Ensure adherence to the National Electric Safety Code and recognize distribution equipment hazards.
- Safeguard sensitive and proprietary information.
- Manage and develop models for reporting operational KPIs and monthly performance reports.
- Collaborate with Finance and Operations group to analyze information for leadership reports.
- Support Finance and Operations group members in understanding and articulating business drivers.
- Track and submit projected revenue, earned value, and operational metrics.
- Participate in meetings with construction supervisors to obtain technical, financial, and operational inputs.
- Assist the Estimating department with new estimates based on historical project reporting.
- Perform additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of project management experience with a contractor.
- Detailed knowledge of project management fundamentals.
- Strong finance and accounting knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 4-year college degree preferred.
- Experience in civil construction or high voltage electrical construction for at least 4 years.
- Worked for a self-performing contractor.
- Financial studies and knowledge of the electricity and electrical construction market preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office and construction management software.
Work Environment
The position requires working 75% in the office and 25% in the field, with local travel to project sites in Arizona. A company vehicle is provided.
