Life Safety Systems Engineer - Phoenix, AZ
We are seeking an experienced Life Safety Systems Engineer to join our innovative team. The role is based in our 4-nanometer fabrication facility in Phoenix, Arizona. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of hands-on technical experience in Life Safety Systems Design, Fire Protection, and Fire Suppression Systems Design. As a Life Safety Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the design and implementation of code-compliant life safety systems. Job Responsibilities
- Define design parameters for life safety systems based on operational and manufacturing requirements, code requirements, and industry best practices.
- Support engineering design, analysis, calculations, and specifications for facility infrastructure fire and life safety systems.
- Respond to requests for information during the bidding, design, and construction process.
- Document technical decisions and key data during fast-paced meetings and construction sequencing.
- Review conceptual designs and construction documents to ensure compliance with code requirements and standards.
- Perform periodic inspections of construction progress to ensure compliance with permitted designs.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering - Will consider other relevant Engineering degrees.
- 5+ years of design experience for Life Safety Systems in High-Tech industries such as Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor, or Data Centers.
- Working knowledge in IBC, IFC, NFPA 13, and NFPA 72 - Experience with City of Phoenix Amendments is a plus, but not required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Work Management Systems.
- Action- and results-orientation with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to walk for extended periods of time in a cleanroom suit.
- Proactive communication skills with diplomacy and tact.
Work Environment
The work environment is fast-paced, results-driven, and challenging. You will interact with cross-functional groups including skilled trades and engineers. The standard working hours are 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm, with some flexibility if needed for personal commitments. Occasionally, you may need to work outside of normal hours.
