Job Title: Entry Level Technician
Job Description

We are seeking an Entry Level Technician responsible for performing skilled tasks in the service, maintenance, and repair of airplane wheels and braking systems. This role involves engaging in various technical duties to ensure the efficient operation and safety of aviation components.

Responsibilities

  • Deflate tires.
  • Break torque and bead of tires.
  • Remove bearings and related hardware including bolts, washers, and nuts.
  • Clean hardware and wheels in an aqueous or solvent-based machine.
  • Occasionally remove paint with a dry system such as bead blast.
  • Operate heavy-duty hydraulic jacks and other equipment to perform wheel maintenance functions.
  • Assist other departments when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in assembly, hand tools, production, mechanical, and mechanical assembly.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a team member and individually.
  • Ability to work within provided timelines and meet production requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • No tools required for the position.
  • Safety glasses and safety shoes, composite or steel-toed, are required.
  • Must pass an FAA Drug Test and Background Check.

Work Environment

The work environment is indoors, equipped with swamp coolers and fans to maintain a comfortable temperature. This full-time position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule, from 7 am to 4 pm. The role requires physical activity, including standing, walking, using hands, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities, such as close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and color vision, are necessary for this position.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.50/hr.
