Job Description
Join a dynamic and rapidly growing team responsible for ensuring the seamless operational execution of logistics within a major supply chain network. As a Logistic Specialist III, you will be integral in supporting regions and shippers, ensuring on-time pickup and delivery of freight across various hubs. You will play a key role in addressing disruptions, analyzing network trends, and contributing to the delivery of a world-class transportation product.
Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with customers, carriers, railroad partners, vendors, suppliers, stakeholders, and program managers
- Pull and analyze data from numerous databases using Excel, SQL, and other data management systems
- Understand performance metrics to drive business results
- Rectify disruptions and breaks in the process, following standard work to make informed decisions
- Provide real-time customer experience in a fast-paced operating environment
- Systematically escalate problems or variances to relevant owners and teams
- Deliver and ensure follow-through on resolutions to ensure information delivery
- Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, measuring and identifying activities performed
- Communicate findings and data trends both verbally and in writing
Essential Skills
- Critical thinking skills to make inferences and informed decisions
- 1+ years of experience working with computers and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Drive for results and interest in logistics and transportation
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, charts, and data analysis functions
- Proficiency in managing large data sets to drive performance and process improvements
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in logistics or transportation
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Proficiency in reading and taking direction in English
- Experience with SQL is a plus
- Experience using Inventory Management Systems
- Understanding of inventory control methodology
- Demonstrated positive work attitude and leadership skills
- Commitment to a culture of safety
- Bachelor's degree is preferred
Work Environment
This role offers a hybrid work environment with a 4/10 schedule. Shifts are either Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday, from 6:30 am to 5 pm or 6 am to 4:30 pm. The role includes a mix of in-office days, with the front half of the week in the office on Monday and Tuesday, and the back half on Thursday and Friday.
