Position Summary:

The Team Lead responsibilities will include but not be limited toschedule attainment & ensuring processes/procedures are followed to build products in a timely manner while achieving Safety, Quality, and Productivity metrics. This may include assembly, fabrication, paint, or materials. The lead role is responsible for ensuring the processes and procedures are being followed to build a quality product in a timely manner while maintaining all safety and good housekeeping practices.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Delegate assignments of employees to various workstations to maximize production and achieve daily targets
  • Train and direct employees on how to run the equipment; work processes, quality assurance, safety, machine/tool operations and 5S.
  • Set-up, troubleshoot and identify preventative maintenance, measures to ensure ready for use
  • Assist with change overs
  • Prepare scheduling for production team.
  • Prepare and complete all daily required documentation including production reporting.
  • Ensure the department is following quality and safety procedures set forth by the company.
  • Practice good housekeeping, safe work habits and follow safety protocols
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Nature and Scope:
  • Works under minimal supervision.
  • Resolves most questions and problems as tasks are frequently non-routine.
  • Assists in orienting and training others.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of production equipment and processes preferably within duct, fiberglass environment
  • Working knowledge of MS Office - Outlook, Word, and Excel and familiar with database applications - MAPICS
  • Ability to train, coach and mentor others, ability to develop professional working relationships among employees
  • Ability to read and interpret production schedules and equipment documents
  • Ability to perform precise measurements and use mechanical equipment and troubleshooting.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and written with both internal and external customers and departments
  • Effective organizational skills and time management skills including ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships with internal and external customers and employees.
  • Ability to use good judgement and strong work ethics and integrity on the job.
  • Ability to safely and efficiently operate a forklift as needed - in-house training and certification is required
  • Ability to understand and follow procedures, work instructions and company policies including safety protocols
Experience:
  • 3 to 5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • 1 plus year in a lead/trainer role
Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational training/certifications a plus
People Management: No
