Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. You will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining large mining machinery, such as excavators, bulldozers, graders, cranes, and loaders. Your role will involve troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic issues, replacing worn parts, performing routine maintenance checks, and making necessary adjustments to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair large mining machinery including excavators, bulldozers, graders, cranes, and loaders.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues and replace worn parts.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and make necessary adjustments to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
• Read blueprints and utilize specialized tools.
• Travel to job sites to service equipment in the field.

Essential Skills

• Experience working with large pieces of mining equipment.
• Mechanical experience.
• Experience doing minor repairs with hydraulics, fluid, hoses, and pumps.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in the mining equipment field is preferred.
• Military mechanic experience is a plus.
• Trade school certifications are advantageous.

Work Environment

The work is primarily based in a proving ground garage, which can be dusty and dirty. Some tasks may need to be completed outdoors

This is a Contract position based out of Tucson, AZ.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
