Job Title: Journeyman Electrician (Travel)
Job Description
We are seeking a state-certified journeyman electrician to work on commercial solar job sites. The role involves working with transformers, electrical rooms, AC electrical, disconnects, and combiners. The position requires travel throughout Northern California and the Central Valley 95% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Install and maintain electrical systems on commercial solar sites including flat roofs, rooftops, ground mounts, and carports.
- Work on transformers, electrical rooms, AC electrical, disconnects, and combiners.
- Ensure proper grounding and bonding of commercial PV systems.
- Utilize tools and testing equipment regularly for solar installations.
- Read and interpret commercial electrical plans.
- Train or lead other electricians when necessary.
Essential Skills
- State-certified journeyman electrician.
- Proficiency with electrical systems and solar installations.
- Experience with conduit bending.
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot layout or wiring issues.
- Experience with string inverters, central inverters, and microinverters.
- Strong experience in reading and interpreting commercial electrical plans.
Work Environment
The work involves extensive travel throughout Northern California and the Central Valley. The travel time is recorded on the daily timecard from the starting location to the destination, offering a maximum of 10 hours per trip. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr.
