Job Title: Electrical Engineering Technician


Job Description

We are seeking hands-on engineers and/or technicians to deliver advanced technical support and conduct preventive maintenance on diverse electronic systems. This role involves testing, evaluating, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex electronic and electro-mechanical equipment and systems, applying technological expertise, scientific principles, and mathematical skills.


Responsibilities

  • Test, evaluate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex electronic and electro-mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Apply technological expertise, scientific principles, and mathematical skills in everyday tasks.
  • Participate in skills assessments to ensure proficiency.
  • Utilize test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power meters, and digital multimeters (DMM) effectively.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and calibration on electronic systems.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) on electronic circuits.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Maintain and repair RF systems and high-voltage power sources.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in electrical engineering best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) skills.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance techniques.
  • Expertise in using test equipment like oscilloscopes and power meters.
  • Strong schematic reading and comprehension skills.
  • Advanced technical understanding of electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical systems.
  • Extensive experience in advanced troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of complex electronic equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate of Science or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • Related military training or trade school education.
  • FCC General Radio Operators License or Certified Electronics Technician certification.
  • Society of Broadcast Engineering Certified Broadcast Radio or TV Engineer licenses or certifications.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position where you will work with cutting-edge research on the edge of science, ensuring personnel are adequately protected against hazards. You will have access to complex test equipment and diagnostic routines, and engage in detailed procedures and repairs.
