Job Title: Project Hydrogeologist
Job Description
We are seeking a Project Hydrogeologist to lead, manage, and contribute to technically challenging environmental projects in northern California. The position will be based in our Berkeley office and may require travel to project sites throughout northern California.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute all aspects of project management, including scopes of work within specified schedules and budgets.
- Interact with clients and regulatory agency staff to ensure project alignment and compliance.
- Participate in business development activities and prepare proposals to attract and retain clients.
- Supervise and mentor technical staff, fostering professional growth and development.
- Prepare, edit, and review project work plans and reports to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Lead teams engaged in field sampling, hydraulic testing, and characterizing contaminants in soil and groundwater.
- Define alluvial and bedrock stratigraphy, geology, and hydrogeology; analyze natural groundwater chemistry and geochemical processes; generate and interpret geologic and hydrogeologic cross-sections.
- Develop groundwater elevation and contaminant plume maps.
- Create hydrogeologic conceptual models and develop hydraulic test designs, instrumentation, and analysis.
- Design and install wells, and conduct numerical and analytical groundwater and vadose zone flow and transport modeling.
- Bachelor's degree in hydrogeology or geology.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience working on environmental remediation sites, primarily in environmental hydrogeology.
- Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations.
- Experience in site redevelopment.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, computer, and quantitative skills.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in supervising and mentoring technical staff.
- California professional registration.
- Possession of a California driver’s license and a DMV record acceptable to insurance carrier.
- Experience in water resources and technical issues pertaining to groundwater basin management.
