The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operations of production staff. Reporting to the VP of Manufacturing, this role involves problem-solving and implementing continuous improvement activities on the manufacturing floor. The Production Supervisor also contributes individually to product building while supervising employees.
Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day production activities under the guidance of Operations Management.
- Supervise production employees in the manufacturing and packaging of products.
- Provide leadership through effective communication, coaching, training, and development.
- Manage a staff of up to 30 production employees, including temporary staff, and ensure appropriate staffing levels based on production needs.
- Create and maintain weekly production schedules.
- Utilize labor, materials, and support services efficiently to meet quality standards, production schedules, and profit plans.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for production operators.
- Compile and provide production metrics as requested.
- Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and on-time delivery.
- Coordinate with other departments to meet production schedules.
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly objectives and communicate them to employees.
- Oversee personnel responsibilities, including evaluating job performance.
- Exercise responsibility for product cost control and quality within design and specification constraints.
- Lead the team in finding effective and timely solutions to problems.
- Maintain workflow by monitoring process steps, setting processing variables, and observing control points and equipment.
- Compile, initiate, sort, and analyze production performance records and data.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Production management experience in electronics and aerospace.
- Engineering degree in a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- Current IPC-A-610 and J-STD 001 soldering certificates.
- 5+ years manufacturing plant experience.
- 1 to 3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to understand and interpret complex manufacturing drawings.
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
- Addendum to IPC J-STD 001 Space Application Electronic Hardware certification is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft Project, and Excel.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (CETEC/SAP) preferred.
The work involves collaborating with 30 production members on the floor. The role requires direct communication with the management team and involves maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Camarillo, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $42.07 - $52.88/hr.
