We’re seeking a detail-oriented and driven Electrical Engineer to support the design and implementation of electrical power systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities. What You’ll Do
- Design and develop electrical power systems for municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, and short circuit current evaluations.
- Create detailed conduit routing, motor control center (MCC), and switchgear designs.
- Prepare technical specifications, cost estimates, and construction documentation.
- Conduct field investigations, support start-up and commissioning, and ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 820, NESC, and IEEE standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and interface directly with clients.
Key Focus Areas
- Power system design for municipal water and wastewater treatment.
- Application of IEEE Color Books, NEC, and NFPA standards.
- Field startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Specification development and construction support.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 6–12 years of experience in electrical design for infrastructure projects.
- PE license (required).
- Proficiency in power system analysis, including harmonic distortion, power factor, and reactive power.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 820, NESC, and IEEE 80/485.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with municipal water reuse and wastewater treatment systems.
- Familiarity with control schematics, electrical utilities, and cost estimating.
