Training is from 9am-5pm, with standard shifts from 6am-2:30pm, including a 30-minute lunch.
Must be flexible to work occasionally on the 2nd shift from 2pm-10:30pm and OT on weekends as needed is required.
Job Description
The Molecular Production Lab Technician will play a crucial role in testing, packaging, and quality control of raw materials and products manufactured by the company. The technician will also complete all required documentation relevant to testing and release of products. Additionally, the technician will contribute to the development of specifications and protocols to ensure that all distributed products meet their specifications, while supporting all applicable regulations including FDA, ISO, and CMD/CAS requirements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct testing, packaging, and quality control of raw materials and products.
- Complete all necessary documentation for product testing and release.
- Develop specifications and protocols to ensure product compliance with standards.
- Support compliance with FDA, ISO, and CMD/CAS regulations.
- Use pipettes consistently and accurately.
- Navigate microscope slides and utilize plate readers.
- Analyze data using computer software.
- Maintain working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word for generating reports.
- Demonstrate the ability to multitask effectively.
Essential Skills
- Experience with quality control processes.
- Proficiency in ELISA, PCR, and molecular biology techniques.
- Skill in pipetting and aseptic techniques.
- Academic labs or classes in microbiology or molecular cell biology.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred in Biology, Biological Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Academic lab experience with pipetting, PCR, or aseptic techniques is ideal.
- Familiarity with ELISA and preferred IFA assay experience.
Work Environment
The role is based in a sterile laboratory environment, assisting in the production of test kits. You will be trained to handle packaging, assembling kits, and performing ELISA tests and formulations. Safety equipment such as lab coats, safety glasses, and gloves will be provided. The work is repetitive and involves frequent use of pipettes. The team consists of 10-15 lab technicians. The work environment may expose employees to moving mechanical parts, fumes, biohazardous materials, and chemicals, with a moderate noise level.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cypress, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
