Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Welder Fitter, where you will perform TIG and MIG welding on assemblies. You will assist journeyman welders with fit-up and fabrication and are responsible for reading blueprints, using fixtures, and operating hand grinders. This position is located on-site in El Cajon, CA, four days a week.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG/MIG welding on various assemblies.
• Assist with fit-up and fabrication according to drawings.
• Read and interpret blueprints for welding projects.
• Operate hand grinders and other equipment as needed.
• Weld exotic materials including alloys, inconel, and 300/400 series stainless steel.
• Work with different material thicknesses such as .032, .060, .090, and .0188.
• Set up weld machines, including adjusting amperage and understanding weld symbols.
• Document work performed, including the type of rod used and type of weld.
• Identify materials and manage traveler documentation.

Skills

• Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Experience with welding assemblies and using fixtures.
• Knowledge of GTAW and GMAW processes.
• Skilled in welding exotic materials and handling varying material thicknesses.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Cajon, CA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
