Location - El Cajon, CA

Shift - 2nd Shift (4:00PM - 2:30PM Mon - Thurs)

Pay Rate - $25 - 30/HR depending on experience

Job Description -

We are seeking a skilled Welder Fitter to perform TIG/MIG welding on various assemblies. The role involves assisting a journeyman welder with fit-up and fabrication tasks, reading blueprints, using fixtures, and operating hand grinders. This position requires on-site work in El Cajon, CA, four days a week.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG/MIG welding on assemblies using GTAW and GMAW techniques.
• Assist with fit-up and fabrication according to drawings.
• Operate hand grinders and utilize fixtures in welding processes.
• Weld exotic materials such as alloys, Inconel, and 300/400 series stainless steel.
• Handle welding of different thicknesses of materials including .032, .060, .090, and .0188.
• Execute welding using back gaps and set up weld machines, including amperage and weld symbols.
• Document work details, including the type of rod used and the type of weld.
• Identify materials and set them on the traveler.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding.
• Experience in reading blueprints and using fixtures.
• Knowledge of welding techniques for exotic materials like alloys, Inconel, and stainless steel.
• Ability to weld various material thicknesses.
• Skill in setting up weld machines and understanding weld symbols.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ownership of a welding hood.
• Willingness to work on assigned jobs within and outside the welding field.
• Ability to fabricate parts under supervision.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Cajon, CA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
