Job Description

• We are seeking a skilled Welder to perform TIG/MIG welding on assemblies and assist journeyman welders with fit-up and fabrication tasks. This role requires working on-site in El Cajon, CA, four days a week and involves reading blueprints, using fixtures, and operating hand grinders.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG/MIG welds on assemblies.
• Assist with fit-up and fabrication as per drawings.
• Operate hand grinders efficiently.
• Weld exotic materials such as alloys, Inconel, and 300/400 series stainless steel.
• Handle various material thicknesses including .032, .060, .090, and .0188.
• Utilize back gaps in welding processes.
• Set up weld machines and adjust settings such as amperage and weld symbols.

Essential Skills

• Proficient in TIG and MIG welding.
• Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Experience with welding assemblies and fixture usage.
• Knowledge of GTAW and GMAW welding techniques.
• Ability to weld various exotic materials including alloys and Inconel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Possess own welding hood.
• Willingness to work on assigned jobs within and outside the welding field.
• Ability to fabricate parts under supervision.
• Experience in documenting work details such as type of rod used and type of weld.
• Skill in identifying materials and organizing them on traveler.

Work Environment

• This position is based on-site in El Cajon, CA, requiring four days of work per week. The role involves working with various welding technologies and equipment, including handling and operating heavy-duty machines and hand tools. The environment is dynamic and requires adherence to safety regulations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Cajon, CA.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
