We are currently hiring for a bilingual (English/Japanese) Food Safety Specialist with a client in the Los Angeles area. The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Food Science but open to other degrees with relevant experience.


Description

  • Provide documentation to customers (spec sheets, audit certificates, etc.)
  • Communicate with suppliers for documentation
  • Develop and maintain HACCP plans and prerequisite programs
  • Verify labeling and ingredients of imported products
  • Investigate non-conformities and customer complaints
  • Conduct monthly internal audits
  • Research regulations and report fish imports to NOAA
  • Apply/renew certificates and registrations
  • Attend company events and inventory counts

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related field (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations
  • Familiarity with FDA/USDA labeling and compliance standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with internal audits and corrective action processes
  • Knowledge of Japanese food products and ingredients (preferred)
