As a Grinder Operator, you will be responsible for identifying and removing surface defects on forged parts through surface inspection and using powered hand grinders, cutting burrs, polishers, and cut-off wheels. Your role is vital in maintaining the integrity of the forged parts by removing flash extensions and blending in removed cracks to prevent void spaces.
Responsibilities- Identify surface defects on forged parts via surface inspection.
- Remove surface defects using powered hand grinders, cutting burrs, polishers, and cut-off wheels.
- Effectively use calipers and tape measures.
- Remove flash extension while maintaining the integrity of the forged part.
- Blend in removed cracks to prevent void spaces.
- Keep the work area clean and safe.
- Work safely and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Participate as a proactive team member.
- Maintain compliance with all company procedures and safety requirements.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor as needed.
- Proficiency in using grinders, grinding, and polishing tools.
- Experience in deburring and working in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Effective communication skills and ability to read/follow directions in English.
- Experience in a general labor or production helper role within the manufacturing industry.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a manufacturing environment, which may be dirty and dusty. Initial training will occur on the first shift from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm, with flexibility to start as early as 4:00 am. Candidates must be open to transitioning to a second shift after training. Phone screenings are conducted Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 8:30 am.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fontana, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
