MIG Welder – 2nd Shift
Job Description
This role focuses on setting up and operating MIG welding equipment to produce high-quality parts from 16-gauge sheet metal in a clean, high-volume metal manufacturing environment. You will support production by performing precise welds, grinding, and finishing tasks while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency on the 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm shift.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate MIG welding tools to produce parts from 16-gauge sheet metal according to specifications and work orders.
- Perform MIG welding on metal components, ensuring strong, clean, and accurate welds that meet quality standards.
- Read and interpret specification sheets, blueprints, and work orders to determine materials, measurements, and welding requirements.
- Lay out and load materials using basic math skills and handheld measuring tools to ensure correct dimensions and alignment.
- Use grinders, sanders, and deburring tools to grind, sand, and finish welded parts as needed.
- Inspect welded and finished parts for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications, making adjustments as needed.
- Operate and maintain handheld welding tools and related equipment, following proper safety and maintenance procedures.
- Work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment to meet daily and weekly output targets.
- Handle metalworking and hollow metal fabrication tasks as required to support production.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Metalworking or hollow metal fabrication experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Solid understanding of shop safety practices and safe equipment operation.

Work Environment
Work in a clean, organized metal manufacturing facility focused on high-volume production. The role involves frequent use of MIG welding equipment, grinders, sanders, deburring tools, and basic power tools and machinery. This is a 2nd shift position, typically running from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
