Facilities Maintenance Technicians are responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical, mechanical equipment, and fire systems. Technicians utilize their technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills while collaborating with the Facilities Operations and Maintenance departments. They perform general maintenance duties, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance as required.
Responsibilities- Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within facilities.
- Handle minor maintenance tasks on building infrastructure, including lighting, patching, and repairing.
- Perform preventative maintenance on facilities systems, including scheduled calibrations.
- Install or repair infrastructure equipment such as ductwork, piping, exhaust systems, wiring, and HVAC.
- Utilize Building Management System (BMS) experience and work order systems.
- Perform skilled mechanical or electrical services as requested by leadership.
- Conduct periodic inspections of all mechanical and electrical equipment and systems.
- Monitor and escort sub-contractors during their work.
- At least 3 to 5 years of facilities maintenance experience in commercial or manufacturing facilities.
- Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Ability to comply with codes, regulations, and directives related to building operations and safety.
- Experience in painting, carpentry, and building maintenance.
- Self-directed with the ability to plan and organize work efficiently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional demeanor with a strong customer focus.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Work EnvironmentThe work involves Research and Development offsite locations in Palo Alto, Fremont, and Hayward. Individuals will have a home location but may need to travel to other facilities. Buildings operate 24/7 with schedules from Monday to Friday, with some weekend work required. The non-union facility offers casual work attire, with some uniforms provided for engineers. The day shift runs from 6am to 3:30pm.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fremont, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
