Description

Position Title: Hardware Validation Engineer

Overview:

We’re seeking a hands-on engineer to join a multidisciplinary technical team focused on validating and troubleshooting hardware systems across a range of platforms, including enterprise servers, networking gear, and computing devices. This role involves setting up test environments, executing performance and scalability assessments, and supporting root cause analysis for issues.

The role sits within a cross-functional engineering support group that collaborates with design, operations, and integration teams to ensure product reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Lab Setup & Configuration:

Assemble and maintain validation stations using appropriate tools, components, and software to simulate real-world operating conditions.

Test Execution & Optimization:

Run structured and exploratory tests to evaluate system behavior under load. Refine procedures based on results and contribute feedback to design teams.

Issue Reproduction & Analysis:

Investigate anomalies by reproducing failures and isolating root causes across hardware, firmware, and scripting layers.

Reporting & Documentation:

Generate clear, detailed records of test results, debug efforts, and technical support activities. Maintain logs for traceability and future reference.

Cross-Team Support:

Provide technical assistance during system validation phases, helping teams resolve hardware/software integration issues.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with engineers and stakeholders to meet project milestones and ensure alignment with broader technical goals.

Additional Engineering Tasks:

Participate in other technical initiatives as directed by leadership.

Qualifications & Skills:

Candidates with a strong foundation in electronics and system-level hardware integration are preferred.

Practical experience with server architecture and diagnostic workflows.

Familiarity with networking hardware, power systems, and desktop computing platforms.

Understanding of system buses and interfaces (e.g., PCIe, USB).

Hands-on experience with lab tools (oscilloscopes, DMMs, soldering stations).

Exposure to system management protocols (e.g., IPMI, Redfish).

Knowledge of communication standards (e.g., Ethernet, PCIe).

Scripting or programming experience (e.g., Python) for automation and data analysis.

Proficiency in documentation and reporting using productivity tools.

Strong analytical and debugging capabilities.

Effective communicator with a collaborative mindset.

Self-driven and reliable, with the ability to work independently and contribute to team objectives.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline (master’s degree a plus).

Minimum of 5 years in hardware validation, development, or manufacturing support.
