Job Title: Conversion Dept Operator
Job Description

As a Conversion Dept Operator, you will be trained to operate equipment controls for the safe loading and unloading of rolls for packing, as well as winding and rewinding finished products. You will also be responsible for preparing samples, printing, and labeling finished products.

Responsibilities

  • Check operating controls and safety of equipment prior to operation.
  • Obtain material for processing from inventory bins and notify supervisor if any damaged, defective, or missing materials are found.
  • Set up machine based on production orders.
  • Label and pack finished products as they are produced on the machine according to work order instructions.
  • Review work order and drawings to resolve any conflicts.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with company policies.
  • Comply with OHSA safety standards when performing job duties.
  • Notify supervisor or manager of any potential safety hazards.
  • Maintain lift cart certification.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 years of experience in heavy machinery operation, general labor, carpentry, or construction.
  • Experience with large parts or materials (4 ft +).
  • Good documentation skills.
  • Understanding of oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Experience with ERP systems for work order management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with film, paper, cardboard rewinding machinery or converting machinery is a plus.
  • Experience with bottling or food manufacturing machinery is a plus.
  • Experience with hand tools, drills, and saws is a plus.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntington Beach, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $20.50/hr.
