Packaging Engineer - Medical Device


Job Description

Design and develop best-in-class packaging and labeling solutions from early concept through commercialization for sterile and non-sterile medical devices. Drive continuous improvement by assessing current procedures and incorporating Voice of the Customer input to identify best practices.


Responsibilities

  • Develop packaging and labeling components that enhance the customer experience, collaborating with a drafter to create 3D models and artwork.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the development life cycle by delivering high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborate with quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, marketing, R&D device designers, supply chain, vendors, and kitting centers across geographies to ensure project success.
  • Incorporate quality into all aspects of product development and support by maintaining compliance with quality requirements and leading improvements that facilitate organizational compliance.
  • Support audits, non-conformances, and CAPAs as needed.
  • Lead small-scale Packaging/Labeling projects or co-manage large-scale programs as part of a major project to drive changes across the portfolio.
  • Exhibit a high level of service and responsibility by managing a varied workload from internal clients and adhering to tight timelines.
  • Independently devise and develop approaches to problem-solving that require advanced technical knowledge.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate automated solutions seamlessly.
  • Work with development teams across the organization to plan, implement, and track end-to-end automation activities.
  • Ensure that testing is appropriately developed according to the risk level of the item being tested.
  • Ensure that processes, facilities, equipment, or systems are compliant, capable, in control, and maintained in a validated or qualified state.

Essential Skills

  • Expertise in packaging, packaging engineering, and packaging design.
  • Experience with validation and verification processes.
  • Bachelor of Science degree.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in leading packaging design projects.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with cross-functional teams.
