About the Opportunity
Are you a Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Designer who thrives on hands‑on design, real project ownership, and meaningful work? This is a unique opportunity to play a key role on complex federal healthcare and defense facilities that directly support critical national infrastructure.
In this role, you’ll become a primary Revit production lead, supporting impactful projects across Southern California. You’ll work alongside a collaborative, multidisciplinary team where your technical expertise directly influences the performance, safety, and reliability of essential facilities. If you value autonomy, problem‑solving, and high‑quality mechanical design, this role offers both challenge and purpose.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of Revit modeling and construction documentation for HVAC and plumbing systems
- Update and produce AutoCAD drawings, including as‑builts, legacy files, and design details
- Perform mechanical load calculations using Trane or comparable modeling tools
- Contribute to projects ranging from $25K to $1M in mechanical design scope
- Support senior engineers by independently executing production‑level design tasks and deliverables
- Participate in limited site visits (1–2 days) for field verification and system assessments
- Coordinate closely with architectural, electrical, and controls disciplines on integrated project scopes
What Sets This Role Apart
- Work on mission‑critical federal healthcare and defense projects with national impact
- Exposure to diverse and technically challenging mechanical systems, including medical and industrial facilities
- A hybrid work schedule that balances collaboration with focused independent work
- Long‑term stability with a strong likelihood of conversion to full‑time employment
- A team culture that values initiative, technical craftsmanship, and accountability
Required Qualifications
- Strong Revit expertise with demonstrated ownership of mechanical models
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Solid background in both HVAC and plumbing design
- Plumbing must represent at least 50% of overall design capability
- Experience performing mechanical load calculations and system modeling (Trane, HAP, Carrier, or similar)
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- U.S. Citizenship required due to federal project requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with industrial or medical facilities
- Exposure to building controls systems and electrical coordination
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification or interest in pursuing professional licensure
- Familiarity with federal, VA, or DoD projects
What Success Looks Like
Within your first 90 days, you will:
- Deliver high‑quality HVAC and plumbing design packages in Revit
- Independently manage scoped tasks and smaller project assignments
- Serve as a trusted technical resource supporting senior mechanical leadership
- Be fully integrated into the team’s federal project delivery pipeline
