Job Title: Staff Accountant
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to maintain and manage accounting records in accordance with U.S. GAAP. The role involves assisting with the month-end close process, preparing and posting journal entries, and reconciling general ledger accounts. You will also be responsible for maintaining accounting schedules, preparing journal entries, and assisting the AP team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accounting records in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Assist with the month-end close process, including preparation and posting of journal entries and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Maintain accounting schedules such as Prepaids, Accrued expenses, Current/Non-current Deferrals, Intangible assets, and Long-term debt.
- Prepare and track General Journal Entries.
- Assist A/P staff with coding of payables (G/L, Dept, Location).
- Reconcile the cash journal with actual bank activity and maintain relevant schedules.
- Record journal entries to address bank to book differences.
- Download and ensure proper G/L coding of credit card activity on a weekly basis.
- Maintain a reconciliation and calculate monthly credit card accrual.
- Assist in maintaining fixed assets registers, including additions, disposals, and calculation of depreciation.
- Assist with development and maintenance of a capital expenditure requisition process.
- Reconcile assigned intercompany accounts and record missing transactions with proper documentation.
- Assist with preparation of internal and external financial reports.
- Prepare schedules and documentation for external audits and manage audit request lists.
- Comply with company and department policies and procedures.
- Assist with the design, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of internal controls.
- Perform technical accounting research and write memoranda on accounting matters.
- Implement changes for new accounting pronouncements.
- Participate in projects to drive efficiency and streamline processes.
- Maintain organized accounting records, including monthly analysis and reconciliations.
