Job Description
This role focuses on the precise fabrication and assembly of aerospace flight hardware. You will drill precision holes, assemble components using structural adhesives and fasteners, and perform detailed in-process inspections to ensure all hardware meets strict aerospace quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Drill precision holes in flight hardware, selecting appropriate drill motors, drill sizes, and using the correct tooling, jigs, or egg cups to meet engineering specifications.
- Assemble aerospace hardware using structural adhesives, ensuring correct application and cure according to procedures.
- Properly torque fasteners, install inserts, and install hiloks to achieve secure and reliable structural joints.
- Perform in-process inspections using hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, and pin gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Carry out blending and deburr operations using suitable hand or power tools to remove sharp edges and surface irregularities.
- Apply alodine, sealants, or other protective coatings to hardware after machining or deburring to prevent corrosion and damage.
- Use mechanical aptitude and expertise to troubleshoot basic assembly issues and suggest practical solutions.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move aerospace hardware and tooling safely within the warehouse.
- Follow 5S practices to maintain an organized, clean, and efficient work area.
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and procedural requirements in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and mechanical expertise in a fabrication or assembly environment.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools for drilling, blending, deburring, and general mechanical work.
- Ability to drill precision holes in metal or composite structures using appropriate drill motors, drill sizes, and tooling or jigs.
- Proficiency in using torque tools to properly torque fasteners and install inserts and hiloks.
- Experience performing in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and pin gauges.
- Ability to apply sealants and structural adhesives accurately and consistently.
- Experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
- Experience in aerospace, aerospace structural work, or aerospace fabrication.
- Understanding of 5S principles and ability to maintain an orderly work area.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions and procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Aerospace technician schooling or formal aerospace technical training.
- Completion of or participation in an apprenticeship related to aerospace, mechanical, or industrial trades.
- Experience working with aerospace sealants, including correct preparation, application, and curing.
- Familiarity with aerospace warehouse operations and material handling.
- Comfort working with a variety of hand and power tools in a production environment.

Work Environment
Work takes place in an aerospace warehouse environment focused on the fabrication and assembly of flight hardware. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and pin gauges. Forklifts and other material-handling equipment support the movement of hardware and tooling. The setting emphasizes safety, organization, and 5S principles, with a structured, process-driven approach to work. You can expect a hands-on, shop-floor environment where adherence to aerospace quality standards and procedures is essential.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Beach, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
