Job Title: Civil Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking an Entry-Level Civil or Environmental Engineer to join our team, focusing on a variety of solid waste projects. You will provide design support for landfills and landfill gas systems, assist with permitting, create construction plans, and oversee construction. This role includes long field days offering valuable learning opportunities and can be hybrid when field presence is not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist staff in overseeing drilling activities, including probe and well installation, borehole logging, well development, well construction, monitoring, and sampling.
- Conduct and document construction quality assurance observations and inspections to ensure compliance with design plans, specifications, and quality control.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and clients under the guidance of the Project or Task Manager.
- Compile data and contribute to report preparation, eventually progressing to prepare complete reports such as environmental site assessments, emissions monitoring, groundwater/soil investigations, compliance, and other project reporting.
- Prepare permit applications and regulatory agency submissions with supporting documentation, including researching regulatory requirements.
- Compile data and perform basic calculations to support reports and design documents.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- At least 3+ months of civil engineering or internship experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Technical report writing skills
- Basic understanding of wastewater distribution
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Civil 3D
- Experience with landfill projects
- Experience in wastewater projects
- Interest in obtaining E.I.T certification in the near future
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position requiring in-office presence at least once a week. You will spend about 50% of your time in the office and 50% in the field. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and walk through rough terrain on a weekly basis.
