Job Title: Software Development Engineer
Job Description
Utilize your understanding of network topology and experience in Software Defined Networking and network operations to collaborate with the network team. Develop APIs and other interface software to meet unique customer needs. Demonstrate the capabilities of the defined interfaces and architectures in a simulated test environment that you help create. Solve complex technical problems related to the Kuiper constellation for government customers as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Lead internal and vendor teams to fulfill software and interface requirements, ensuring systems meet performance needs including availability, reliability, upgradeability, interoperability, and security requirements. Communicate project health, risks, and issues effectively to stakeholders and management teams, escalating urgent issues appropriately and driving them to closure in a timely manner. Provide visualizations, document results, and communicate them across multi-disciplinary project teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop APIs and interface software to meet customer needs.
- Demonstrate interface capabilities in a simulated test environment.
- Lead teams to develop software and interface requirements.
- Ensure systems meet performance needs including reliability and security.
- Communicate project health, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
- Escalate urgent issues and drive them to closure.
- Provide visualizations and document results for project teams.
Essential Skills
- AWS, Java, Rust, and React proficiency.
- Ability to write code in AWS using Python, Kotlin, or Rust.
- Experience in writing new code in Java or C++.
- Cloud or networking experience.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of design or architecture experience.
- Programming experience with Java, Rust, Python, or C++.
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Software defined networking experience.
