Job Description
Under the supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer and in collaboration with the Site Medical Director, the Nurse Manager will provide culturally competent medical services to low-income adult individuals in Los Angeles County, focusing specifically on underserved communities. The role involves providing leadership to RNs, LVNs, medical assistants, HIV/STD counselors, phlebotomists, and other non-administrative staff. The Nurse Manager will assure quality and cost-effective care for clinic patients, manage the course of treatment, and coordinate care with providers and other clinical support staff to ensure quality patient outcomes are achieved efficiently.
Pay - $110,000-$145,000!
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical support to medical providers before and after adult primary care visits to ensure timely delivery of quality medical care.
- Treat patients diagnosed with sexually transmitted infections in a timely manner according to clinical STI treatment guidelines.
- Administer vaccines to adult patients per clinical guidelines.
- Provide and document health education to patients.
- Triage adult patients who walk in or call with acute medical concerns.
- Provide chronic disease management for patients referred by providers and develop appropriate care plans.
- Delegate appropriate chronic disease management referrals to LVNs.
- Interface with other non-administrative staff to ensure timely specialty referrals and continuity of patient care.
- Assist front office staff with arrangements for patients arriving late or needing rescheduling.
- Conduct morning huddles with the site medical director and nurse manager to align staff on priorities and patient needs.
- Participate in quality improvement activities as directed by the medical director.
- Collaborate to optimize operational efficiency and financial performance by reviewing patient goals, provider productivity, and pharmacy revenue.
- Ensure cost-effective ordering of supplies.
- Identify opportunities to enhance quality of care, streamline workflows, reduce costs, boost staff engagement, and elevate the patient experience.
Essential Skills
- Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and 5 years’ experience as an RN, with a minimum of 3 years in an ambulatory health care clinic.
- Two years’ experience in management in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Analytical, problem-solving, planning, evaluation, and organizational skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in patient-centered care teams.
- Experience in chronic disease management, case management, utilization management, and quality improvement projects.
- Experience in an HIV medical practice.
- Knowledge and experience working with electronic health records, eClinicalWorks preferred.
- Ability to provide services in a non-judgmental manner and work effectively with diverse populations.
Work Environment
Provide oversight, guidance, and leadership to LVNs, medical assistants, phlebotomists, and other non-administrative staff. Supervise medical assistants, HIV/STD counselors, RNs, and LVNs directly. Be available to adjust work hours on short notice for supervisor coverage at other clinical sites; travel required. Ensure clinic services operate consistently, ethically, and in compliance with contractual, state, and federal regulations and policies. Coverage is required until the final patient at the health center has departed.
Schedule: 8 AM - 5 PM (Monday-Friday)

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $145000.00/hr.
