Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
This role operates and supports multiple food manufacturing production lines, while also performing stacking and packing tasks as needed. You will work with push-button machinery and computer interfaces to keep production running safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor Seamer/Sauce line equipment, SMI machines, and batch making systems according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Use push-button controls and computer screens to start, stop, adjust, and troubleshoot production equipment as directed.
- Perform stacking and packing duties, including preparing, loading, and organizing finished products for shipment or further processing.
- Handle materials and products throughout the production process, including moving items with a dolly and carrying loads up to specified weight limits.
- Follow production schedules and instructions to meet daily output, quality, and efficiency targets.
- Inspect products and packaging for visible defects and report any issues or irregularities to the appropriate personnel.
- Support general labor tasks on the production floor as needed to ensure continuous operation and minimal downtime.
- Follow all safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures required in a food manufacturing environment.
- Work flexible tasks between machine operation and stacker/packer responsibilities, depending on production needs.
Essential Skills
- Proven reliability and strong attendance, with the ability to consistently report to work on time.
- Experience in machine operating, production, or general labor in a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Ability to perform stacking, packaging, and material handling tasks safely and efficiently.
- Willingness to work 1st shift, typically 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with earlier start times (such as 5:30 am) when supporting batch making.
- Openness to occasional overtime when production needs require it.

Work Environment
This position is based in a food manufacturing facility with active production lines. The environment includes exposure to strong food-related smells, such as tomatoes or vinegar, depending on the area of the plant. Work is performed on a 1st shift schedule, typically from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with batch making activities starting as early as 5:30 am. Occasional overtime may be available based on production demands. The role involves standing for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and handling materials, including using a dolly to move heavier loads. Employees work around automated machinery, computer interfaces, and packaging equipment in a fast-paced, safety-focused setting.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Los Angeles, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
