We are hiring for a Surgical Technician – Labor & Delivery ASAP in Los Angeles, CA!

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Job Type: Registry (2-4 Open Positions, Variable Based on Day)

Schedule: Thursday - Sunday (Rotating Weekends)

Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM Thr/Friday + Rotating Weekends

Compensation: $30–$38 per hour (Based on Experience)


Join our dedicated Labor & Delivery surgical team in a fast-paced trauma hospital setting. We seek skilled Surgical Technicians to assist with obstetric surgeries, primarily cesarean deliveries. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the sterile field, ensuring efficiency, and supporting optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures.
  • Pass instrumentation only to Residents during operations.
  • Ensure surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and functioning.
  • Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after procedures.
  • Work with Pharmacy and assist with STAT testing as needed.
  • Support patient care activities under RN supervision when not in the operating room.
  • Assist with triaging and follow infection control protocols.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • CST preferred but NOT required.
  • OB experience is mandatory.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Fire Card/MAB certification.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Labor & Delivery surgical setting at a Trauma Hospital.
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical instrumentation.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Training & Onboarding:

  • No formal training provided; orientation will last 4-6 hours upon arrival.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a high-volume Labor and Delivery unit.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records.
  • Cerner YouTube Training Videos available for review before onboarding.
