Position Summary
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) plays a vital role in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider, the LVN supports clinical operations by performing nursing tasks, assisting with procedures, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and symptoms.
- Administer medications and immunizations as prescribed.
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Perform wound care, specimen collection, and basic laboratory tests.
- Educate patients on medications, treatments, and health maintenance.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) EClinical Works.
- Ensure infection control and safety protocols are followed.
- Support care coordination and follow-up for chronic disease management.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team meetings.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited LVN program.
- Licensure: Current California LVN license in good standing.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Experience: 1+ year of clinical experience preferred, especially in community health or outpatient settings.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
