Licensed Vocational Nurse

Position Summary

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) plays a vital role in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider, the LVN supports clinical operations by performing nursing tasks, assisting with procedures, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients.


Responsibilities:

  • Collect and document patient vital signs, medical histories, and symptoms.
  • Administer medications and immunizations as prescribed.
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Perform wound care, specimen collection, and basic laboratory tests.
  • Educate patients on medications, treatments, and health maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) EClinical Works.
  • Ensure infection control and safety protocols are followed.
  • Support care coordination and follow-up for chronic disease management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team meetings.


Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited LVN program.
  • Licensure: Current California LVN license in good standing.
  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
  • Experience: 1+ year of clinical experience preferred, especially in community health or outpatient settings.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
