Embedded Firmware Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer who is comfortable working closely with hardware engineers to bring up and test new hardware designs. The ideal candidate should be adept at reading component data sheets, user manuals, and hardware schematics. You will collaborate with the ASIC team to bring up new custom network switch ASICs, create diagnostic tests for various platforms, and work with design engineers to bring up platforms.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with hardware engineers to bring up and test new hardware designs.
• Read and understand component data sheets, user manuals, and hardware schematics.
• Collaborate with the ASIC team to bring up new custom network switch ASICs.
• Create diagnostic tests for various platforms.
• Work with design engineers to bring up platforms.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 4 years of experience programming in C.
• Strong experience with embedded software development.
• Experience bringing up hardware and debugging it.
• Experience with processor design and implementation.
• Experience with hardware design.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in C programming.
• Experience with diagnostics and embedded development.
• Familiarity with Linux, device drivers, PCIe, microcontrollers, firmware, and SerDes.
• Experience with bare metal programming.

Work Environment

This position is onsite at a facility in San Jose. You will be working with a highly experienced team and will have the opportunity to support the development of the newest products and technologies. The work environment is collaborative and long-term positions are common, with many consultants staying for over two years.

This is a Contract position based out of Milpitas, CA.

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $52.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Milpitas,CA.
