Job Title: Junior Underwriter

Job Description:

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Junior Underwriter with hands-on experience in processing conventional loans. The ideal candidate will possess a solid experience in loan documentation, condition clearing, and credit analysis, with a strong focus on accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and validate loan applications for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with lending standards
• Analyze credit reports to determine borrower creditworthiness
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of income and asset documentation
• Clear underwriting conditions efficiently and ensure collection of all required documents
• Collaborate closely with loan officers, underwriters, and internal teams to resolve issues
• Stay informed on conventional loan processing guidelines and regulatory updates

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in loan processing or a related role, particularly with conventional loans
• Proven ability to interpret credit reports and analyze income and asset documentation
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities
• Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Associate’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred

Preferred Skills & Competencies:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Solid understanding of underwriting principles and relevant federal, state, and local regulations
• Experience reviewing titles, appraisals, and other mortgage documentation
• Knowledge of income and asset calculation methods
• Financial services or mortgage industry experience is a strong plus
