Anodizing Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Anodizing Technician for a large metal finishing facility located in Costa Mesa/Newport Beach, CA. This role has openings on the first shift from 6am to 2:30pm. Compensation will be based on experience, ranging between $20-$28 an hour. Helper positions are also available with a pay range of $16.90-$18 an hour.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate directly with the operator on technical improvements and provide constant support as needed.
  • Maintain accountability for good attendance and inform management of any quality issues and problems in the department.
  • Assist with in-process inspections across the company.
  • Complete job travelers accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform processing competencies such as Racking, De-Racking, Etching, and Chem Film application (Type I, II, III, 1C).
  • Execute inspection competencies using tools like Thickness gage, Micrometer (ID, OD), Bore gage, and Caliper.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct receiving inspections, including counting, visual inspections, and verifying completion of previous operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized department daily.
  • Process parts in accordance with customer requirements, procedures, work instructions, and quality standards to achieve part conformity.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with plating, including electrodeposited and electroless techniques.
  • Proficiency in chemical conversion coating and passivation.
  • Mechanical cleaning and coating removal skills.
  • Ability to read and write English with legible handwriting.
  • Proficiency in sketch and blueprint reading.
  • Experience using inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, mechanical gages, x-ray, and thickness gages.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after training.
  • Basic understanding of Lean skills and efficiency methods.

Work Environment

This position is based in a large metal finishing facility with a structured first shift from 6am to 2:30pm. The work environment emphasizes safety and cleanliness, requiring adherence to all safety policies and procedures. Employees are expected to maintain a professional appearance and work collaboratively with team members.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport Beach, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
